Would be great if Quagga could be updated version. The latest 1.0.2 has been released with a large number of updates and fixes.

Anyone working on this? The changes to BGP are important, but the OSPFv3 changes are critical.

I'm afraid that "hard" is the hardly hard enough... This will likely take a week at least, and probably more, as many commands have been altered and many have been added. Extensive CLI changes are needed.

Not doing this really damages VyOS' prospects long-term though. As v6 becomes more and more mainstream, OSPFv3 can't be ignored. The bug fixes in the latest quagga are legion.

And BTW, there's a new release (NOT the security release I just posted about) coming soon (probably this week!), with about a zillion patches and new features, including (apparently, according to talk on the quagga list) enough work on ISIS to make it plausible for production use. You might want to wait until that drops, but letting VyOS get further out of sync than that seems like a guarantee of obsolescence.

For 1.1.x we will not update quagga as it not make sense
For 1.2.x it's better to focus on FRR instead
