Add support for the peeringdb module in salt (upgrade salt-minion to 2019.2)
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Wouldn't it be great if we could use SaltStack's peeringdb module to help generate configuration on VyOS?

  • No more looking up AS-sets for peerings.
  • No dropped sessions because you aren't keeping the maximum-prefix on every session up-to-date.
  • Instead of building a configuration for each router for each ASN for each IX, instead write a config which expresses "peer with $AS at $IX" (and let your code make the IPv4 and IPv6 peerings for each of the other network's routers).

That's what I'm hoping for in hphr issue #5 but unfortunately it looks like the module isn't available.

Please consider upgrading salt-minion to 2019.2 in both VyOS 1.2 and VyOS 1.3?
