Installing 1.1.7 on a Dell Optiplex 755 with latest A22 BIOS (2GB RAM, 250GB SATA disk)

64bit AMD install panic'ed during make filesystem (Tried various BIOS AHCI/Legacy SATA settings with same result)

32bit Legacy install got past FS create but froze during install-postinst-new with a script syntax error

Hello,
this should go to questions section, not tasks
it´s most probably due to hw incompatibility
you may try 1.2 beta instead and see if it works

Thank you, I'll try 1.2.

Just for my own edification, how is a shell script syntax error is not considered a bug?

This is something that happens on particular hw setup,
not on all installs out there, therefore, can't consider this as a common bug
it looks like some values not populated, this can be for many reasons,
1.1.7 is based on old code base, and there is no much sense to fix it there.

If it reproducible on 1.2 is more chances to get this fixed, but still no guarantees, as dell optiplex in no some widely used platform in our case
