Here fix
Dec 31 2019
The problem is fixed in 1.3.
Merging 5.8.1 without the VyOS patches in vyos-strongswan did not work. Site-2-Site tunnels did not get up. Funny thing is that DMVPN was working.
Hello, @MapleWang!
Unfortunately, I cannot find any other reliable way to configure vyos-hostsd service to be running before the vyos-router. In fact, vyos-hostsd is really necessary to be running for proper work of the VyOS system, so we can consider this even from the other point of view - how to keep all services operable after the vyos-router restart?
If you will have any ideas, which can help to decrease the overall impact of this situation, we would be happy to get them.
Debian Buster changed a lot in VyOS 1.3. I tried my best to port the settings to VyOS 1.3 in T1921, can someone please verify it is working as expected?
Right now there is also the possibility to enable IPv6 router-advertisments on a PPPoE client interface - this somehow makes no sense at all
With this patch we have binded IRQ for each core
vyos@vyos:~$ cat /proc/interrupts | grep vif0 31: 4 31761 0 0 xen-dyn -event vif0-q0-tx 32: 30389 0 0 0 xen-dyn -event vif0-q0-rx 33: 1 0 0 20496 xen-dyn -event vif0-q1-tx 34: 1 0 18741 0 xen-dyn -event vif0-q1-rx 35: 3 21115 0 0 xen-dyn -event vif0-q2-tx 36: 45095 0 0 0 xen-dyn -event vif0-q2-rx 37: 2 0 0 32254 xen-dyn -event vif0-q3-tx 38: 2 0 19594 0 xen-dyn -event vif0-q3-rx
i will propose to move away from opennhrp to frr backed nhrp

@Dmitry @Viacheslav can you look into this
Dec 30 2019
Until UEFI support is more mature the quick fix may be to prompt the user for legacy or UEFI install during the install process rather than making an assumption based on the kernel detecting UEFI support.
Just adding a "me too" to this issue.
Tested successfully
@kroy , Great. Thank you.
@Dmitry Can confirm I was able to upgrade without any errors now. This problem appears to be fixed
Rolling built on 201912301711 seems to have a different issue. Same config as above.
1.2.3 to 1.3 rolling worked fine for me with a similar l2tp radius config.
Will confirm later this afternoon when I am on site and let you know.
Yes, already in latest rolling. @kroy, can you check migration again?
Seems like this is the same issue as in T1918 @Dmitry

For rolling we need add small fix to opennhtp.init
